This release implements the final battle on Day 50, where the Chosen either defeat the Demon Lord and save the city, or else end up defeated themselves and lose their powers or even their lives. The endings and training mechanics still aren't in yet, which means that both outcomes just move you forward to Day 51 so you can keep messing around with the team, but you can at least get a preview of the various fates in store for defeated Chosen (and even some of the victorious Chosen).
The final battle introduces a couple of new mechanics, so it might be wise to save beforehand in order to give yourself an opportunity to see how they work in practice. Once you're close to the final battle (meaning either you're past Day 45 or you have at least one of the upgrades that lets you damage Resolve), you can check the Chosen's profiles to see how they'll act and how you can beat them. There are a few distinct strategies that can be used to win, so I look forward to seeing which ones are most popular.

Super excited to dive into this update!
ReplyDeleteQuick question on cheats. Say you create a trio of Chosen while cheats are turned off. Later, you want to play them with cheats turned on. Is there an easy way to do this? I tried with the last version and the cheat-setting seemed to always default to whatever was set when the chosen were created.
Some players have said that they prefer being able to lock themselves out of cheats so that they aren't tempted to turn them on later, so I've left it the way you describe. However, the cheat option should unlock itself on any file after day 50.
DeleteWhat if it only locked in -after- the first fight? That way players looking to replay the campaign with their favorite chosen won't need to recreate them from scratch if they want to do a no-cheats/cheats run.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I tend to heavily customize my Chosen and having to recreate them every time gets a little old.
That said, if it's a pain to code, feel free to ignore me.
That seems reasonable, since I don't think anyone would care about locking themselves out of cheats before the playthrough has even started. I think I see an easy way to code it, so I'll add it to my to-do list.
DeleteHoly fuck.

Just saw this for the first time. It's glorious. A small formatting suggestion, have the Chosen's name on the line above T1/T2/T3/T4. As it is, the different length of each Chosen's name throws everything out of wack.
Might be a little dumb, but is this normal?

Hate/Inju/Expo seem to have all wrapped around to 0. I can understand the modifiers dropping, but the lvs as well?
Suggestion noted. I wasn't sure exactly how I should format the new display, so your way might make more sense.
DeleteRegarding the circumstances going down, it might be happening legitimately since that looks like a long-running fight. At high corruption, the regenerate action cuts current circumstance damage by about half (but then adds some PLEA afterwards). But if that isn't what's happening, then let me know.
Is it possible to get to the final battle and have a chance of winning the end battle without taking any of the chosens' virginities? That way the player can start having "fun" with them after you beat them in the final battle.
ReplyDeleteIf I remember it right, red girl/boy will start raping the other chosen at some point, which sort of makes it into a challenge. There's also a scene in day 40 or so, when the Chosen are molested by old men at a beach resort. Is there any way to lock these events from happening (or at least going too far)?
It's definitely within the realm of possibility to make the Chosen fall with virginities intact, though it's a bit tricky. There's only one event in the game where they lose their virignities outside the player's control, and that's when the Chosen with Morality as a Core Vulnerability hits the associated FEAR threshold to start using Slaughter. During the break scene, she'll become a rapist, lose her own virginity, and take one of her allies' virginities. So, if you want to stop that from happening, you have to be careful about how much damage you deal to her.
DeleteIn all the other post-battle sex scenes (including the other Chosen-on-Chosen rape scenes and the old men at the resort), virgin Chosen will succeed in protecting their virginities.
Ran into a bug in the final fight where when I defeat a second chosen while the third is captured or surrounded I get stuck in an infinite loop where the only options I have are examine and back(which just leads to the same screen)
ReplyDeleteActually after going through on a couple different teams it seems like using capture on the last chosen left in general causes it
DeleteSorry for not catching that one earlier. I believe it should be fixed in the release I just uploaded.
DeleteI have the same problem in version 14
DeleteAre you sure that the version you're playing is release 14c? It should say on the first screen when you open the game.
DeleteI can confirm I'm playing on 14C and capturing the second chosen after breaking the first but before the third arrives causes the game to get stuck in a "examine/back" loop
DeleteOn the other hand YAY I'm no longer ending up in negative points for overly long orgies! Oh right, also although it doesn't really matter while I was playing at one point the retreat button said (-1) when one chosen was captured and would escape the following turn. Also there was a typo in one of the breaking scenes where it said "just just" But man I get more use out of this almost completed game than every other lewd game I've bought combined.
DeleteThanks for catching that softlock, it looks like I wasn't thorough enough in fixing it before. It should be fixed next version.
DeleteAnd I'm glad that the game is having so much replay value for you. That's been my goal in writing up so many variations for all the personality combos.
Question. Whats planned to be implemented in release 15?
ReplyDeleteI'm adding some proper conclusions for when you win. Firstly, that means adding epilogues for escaped Chosen to describe how they fare after the final battle. Secondly, fallen Chosen will get new profiles that describe their lives as your servants. The latter feature will segue into training mechanics for fallen Chosen, which I'm hoping to start implementing in the update after that.
DeleteI also want to put in a "hard mode" for players who are finding it too easy to snowball in the midgame, just so that there's some new gameplay content as well, but I'm not sure if I'll have time just yet.
Ooooh the training sounds fun! More sex machines please!
DeleteI do have at least one more of those planned for the training options.
DeleteWoot! Now I'm even more hyped for the training! Least is also encouraging
DeleteQuestion. Will we see new commander upgrades/varients in the future or is this it for the roster?
ReplyDeleteQuestion 2: Will we get to the upgrade the corrupted chosen similar to the commander upgrades?
I'm planning on putting in alternative corruption tracks at some point (e.g. a type of morality break that doesn't take the target's virginity), and those will come with their own defiler actions, their own defiler-class commanders, and possibly their own punisher-class commanders.
DeleteAs for the fallen Chosen, their upgrades won't work in quite the same way, but you will be able to toggle their ability to do all the things commanders do, including breaking vulnerabilities. It'll be a good idea to have different fallen Chosen who specialize in different types of attack (one who specializes in impregnating Chosen, one who specializes in forcing them to orgasm, etc.).
DAMN does this sound interesting! Looking forward to it. Hows the update coming along?
DeleteIt's coming along decently, though it looks like I might not be able to get in as much as I wanted, this time. My goal was to put in unique ending variations for all the personalities and corruption states, but I'm nowhere near being on pace for that. It'll probably have to be one of those cases where I add a few variants with every update alongside other stuff.
DeleteA minor thing, but with Spite and Drain there's an unfinished sentence in description.
ReplyDelete"Your Commander is a huge, vaguely-humanoid titan of a Demon whose mighty grasp drains the vital energy of the Chosen. It attempts to drain enough energy to cause unconsciousness in order to make it easier to Your Commander will lead your Demons into combat....."
So, curious to find out what exactly it makes easier to ;)
It looks like this isn't exactly a bug, although it might be a questionable way to present the information. You can't actually use a Punisher+Defiler commander until you add a Suppressor upgrade as well, and your choice of Suppressor affects how that sentence ends. Maybe the entire description should be hidden when an invalid combination is selected.
Deletei can't save my game so i always starting over again and again
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you might not have extracted the archive containing the game. You'll want to download a program like WinRAR or 7zip, then right-click the file you downloaded and select the option to extract it to a folder. Once the game is extracted into a folder, it'll be able to properly put a save file into that folder.
