Release 6c: Variation

This update overhauls the system to allow for male and futanari Chosen.  It involved quite a lot of rewriting content, particlarly in scenes involving multiple participants, so as always, I appreciate being notified of any spots where the text doesn't make sense.

There are a couple of minor improvements to the interface, but otherwise, this release doesn't really add anything for players who play with exclusively female Chosen.  However, the next release will move the game forward to the next tier of corruption, so I hope everyone can look forward to it!

  • Content: Added male and futanari Chosen.  Their relative occurrence may be adjusted in the options menu.  Male Chosen have some different but functionally identical defilement milestones.
  • Content: The player may set male Chosen to permanently turn into girls or futanari upon being inseminated (whether by Thralls or by the Commander body).
  • Interface: The buttons for the four basic attacks have been rearranged to match the order of the four trauma damage types.  The hotkeys have similarly been rearranged - 1: Threaten, 2: Slime, 3: Attack, 4: Taunt.
  • Interface: The player may now toggle the marker that separates passages of text to be larger and more obvious.
  • Bugfix: Commanders will no longer mysteriously deal less damage on the first round of combat.
  • Other: A new option has been added to turn on cheats even before reaching Day 30.  The button is invisible when no save file past Day 30 is detected, but the player may still activate this option by hitting "c" on the keyboard when viewing the options menu.
Release 6b:
  • Interface: Replaced the passage separator toggle with an input that allows players to enter a separator of their choice.
  • Bugfix: The keyboard input to turn on early cheats is now properly confined to the options menu.
  • Bugfix: The early cheats setting will now carry over into custom games as well.
Release 6c:
  • Other: Packaged an .exe version of the game along with a .jar one.

  1. Looking to give this a shot, but some questions on personality generation:

    A) Any chance you could include some information as to how your answers impact the weighting of dignity/confidence/morality/innocence?

    B) Is it possible to have a chosen generate with 2 core/2 minor vulnerabilities? I swear I've done it before, but I can't seem to do it in 6c.

    1. A) I'm wary of presenting the information in the game itself, since it could end up making the process feel less like generating a personality and more like filling out a spreadsheet. But since you asked, I don't mind the information being out there for those who actively want it. The algorithm works like this.

The questions go through each combination of two vulnerabilities (of which there are six) four times: once to increase both, once each to increase one and decrease the other, and once to decrease both. They're ordered like this:

      1: +Morality, +Innocence
      2: +Morality, +Confidence
      3: +Morality, +Dignity
      4: +Innocence, +Confidence
      5: +Innocence, +Dignity
      6: +Confidence, +Dignity
      7: +Morality, -Innocence
      8: +Morality, -Confidence
      9: +Morality, -Dignity
      10: +Innocence, -Confidence
      11: +Innocence, -Dignity
      12: +Confidence, -Dignity
      13: -Morality, +Innocence
      14: -Morality, +Confidence
      15: -Morality, +Dignity
      16: -Innocence, +Confidence
      17: -Innocence, +Dignity
      18: -Confidence, +Dignity
      19: -Morality, -Innocence
      20: -Morality, -Confidence
      21: -Morality, -Dignity
      22: -Innocence, -Confidence
      23: -Innocence, -Dignity
      24: -Confidence, -Dignity

      B) If it was possible, then it was a bug. Because the vulnerability break scenes take place between a core vulnerability holder and a minor vulnerability holder, the system ensures that all characters have at least one significant vulnerability so that you don't have one character completely hogging the spotlight.

  2. Thanks for the guide. I like to experiment with different personality combos, so this'll make it easier.

(Well damn, seems the problem was me all along. I misremembered, they had a significant vulnerability like you said.)

    1. I'm glad that you're enjoying some experimentation! Don't hesitate to share if you find anything interesting. I'm always curious about how different players play the game.

  3. A little late to the party, but I just wrapped up a MtF playthrough. Liked the new content. Especially liked the scene variation within the torture/broadcast/etc loops.

Unless I'm mistaken, once a Savior transforms into a girl, they're sorta indistinguishable from one of the default girls, right? I wouldn't have minded some more content that specifically dwells on them grappling with their new femininity, but I realize that's a crazy amount of content to write.

Looking forward to a MtS run next.

A question regarding mechanics. Hypothetically, let's say we have a savior with the following stats:

    Morality: FEAR --|-- HATE
    Innocence: DISG --|-- PLEA
    Confidence: PAIN --|-- INJU
    Dignity: SHAM --|-- EXPO

And we want to ambush them with a suppressor/defiler equipped commander. My understanding of such a commander is that they deal both circumstance and trauma damage in roughly even quantities. If you were just trying to break any vulnerability in the above example, would targeting SHAM/EXPO be a mistake, since each lv EXPO gives x2 SHAM and each lv of SHAM gives /2 EXPO?

Since your circumstance multiplier would never grow as fast as your trauma modifier, you'd be better off with INJU/PAIN, right?

    1. Thanks for the feedback! There are a few minor variations that track whether a girl Chosen used to be a guy (in personal profile and in the core vulnerability break scene), but you're correct that it's fairly barebones at the moment - mostly added just because it was easy to do so. I do have plans for some more detailed vignettes that show up on days when no other higher-priority events are happening, so more reactions to body changes will definitely find their way into the game eventually.

Regarding your hypothetical, you're correct that when all else is equal, it's easier to get high INJU than any other circumstance, because it benefits heavily from its own multiplier. The character generation algorithm will never produce such an even distribution of vulnerabilities, though, and the incentive to break cores before minors is intended to make it a bit more ambiguous as to which you should hit first. Furthermore, the third tier of corruption will revolve around trauma rather than circumstances, so that should also mix things up.

  4. Quick quality of life suggestion:

When you are about to select your defiler focus, give us a list of the four damage combinations.

Right now, this is how I select defiler upgrades:

    >Select upgrade
    >Read what it does
    >Realize it wasn't what I wanted
    >Refund commander
    >Create new commander
    >Select another upgrade

    1. Good point. I'll see if I can figure out a more convenient way of getting the information across in the next version.

  5. One query and one peculiarity:

What does the purple highlight for actions like broadcast signify? I haven't noticed anything special about them when I pick them over the orange options.

In my most recent play-through I found that despite torturing one of my chosen multiple times, his core vulnerability still required that I pummel and humiliate (I think) him.

    1. Regarding the query: It's an indicator of a feature that was going to get put in a couple of versions back, but which keeps getting delayed in favor of higher-priority things. The button turns purple when another enemy is already being hit by the same action. Eventually, it'll make it so that you do a powered-up version that involves both of them at once. Until then, it doesn't do anything.

Regarding the peculiarity: It's intended. Each vulnerability has multiple tiers, and the lowest unbroken tier is the one that shows in the profile. However, there's nothing stopping you from breaking tier 2 before tier 1.

  6. How far does the corruption in this go? Like will the girls straight up join the demon side eventually or is that just wishful thinking on my part

    1. It's not implemented yet, but yeah, that's the plan. They'll join your side and help you corrupt subsequent teams you encounter.

    2. Sweet, I'll keep watch on this. This is a nice little project you have here. Any ETA on when you'll have it implemented?

    3. It's first on the list of mechanics to implement for tying playthroughs together, but that means it still needs to wait for the single-playthrough mechanics to be finished first. My estimate for getting to the final battle is 5 months or so, which means that this feature would be a month or two after that. So, expect it around New Year's.
