Release 19: Manipulation

This update adds the second tier of Forsaken training actions, which generally have lower Stamina costs, higher Motivation gains, and much greater Expertise rewards.  These actions will be the bread-and-butter of most training sessions, even after the later tiers get added.  The two main drawbacks to these actions are that they might be too intense for low-corruption Forsaken, and that using them during a playthrough requires purchasing upgrades (the same upgrades which also unlock Suppressor Commander types).  The latter requirement isn't very meaningful yet since there's no penalty for doing your training from the main menu, but it will be important for making the first tier of training actions more relevant during campaign mode.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback regarding where development should go next.  I'm going to dip into flavor text for one update in order to implement the vignette system (and ideally also a scene viewer) and put some more proper erotica into the game.  After that, I'm tentatively looking into alternative corruption paths.  I think this order works well since once the framework for vignettes is in, it should be easy to add a vignette or two to updates which otherwise don't have much erotic content, and slowly build up the number of viewable scenes that way.  The content of further-off updates still isn't set in stone, so feel free to continue to provide feedback regarding which features are needed most!

I've also opened up a tip jar which can be found on the site sidebar.  I won't be putting any of my releases behind paywalls, which means that I don't have anything concrete to give to people who donate.  This should be viewed purely as an option for people who are getting enough enjoyment out of the game that they feel it'd be worth paying for.

  • Content: Added the second tier of training actions for the Forsaken.
  • Interface: After the Psychic Reading upgrade has been purchased, picking which of the Chosen to target first in battle will display the target's vulnerabilities on the confirmation screen.
  • Bugfix: The Forsaken's total expertise values will no longer sometimes decrease during training.
  • Bugfix: The game will now correctly remember which text size the player was using in the most recent save.

  1. This new update was pretty good. Question. Would it be possible to have the generate Forsaken button be more indepth. Ie the ability to select a specific personality ect rather then it being purely random

    1. A minor Gripe/problem I've got with the training scenes is the lack of sexy times rn on occassion. At times theres some good ones but so far they seem a little... generic.

I'm wary of adding too many in-depth options to the Forsaken generation button, because it could make it feel really underwhelming to convert one of the Chosen when you know that you could've gotten the exact same result much more easily. Maybe once there are some more special traits you can only get by specifically beating the Chosen in-game.

      I agree that the training scenes aren't really in-depth enough to be satisfying by themselves. There are just so many possible combinations of training types that it's hard to write a detailed scene which takes them all into account. I'm hopeful that the vignette system (which I'm working on now) will involve the Forsaken responding to what you do in some actually sexy ways.

    1. I think that'll be an important part of the "special battle conditions" feature, once that's implemented. I want to give the player some options for how exactly to use each opportunity for a special battle, and that'll probably involve some "Rush into the Demons' base quickly before our friend's chastity is stolen" type scenarios for the Chosen.

  3. Excited to see things are still progressing smoothly. After the alternate corruption paths, I think the two things I'd be most interested in are the ability to perform breaks with Forsaken and the introduction of alternate scenarios to fight the chosen in; the first is because of my lesbian bias, the second because it seems like the best way to break up the routine of the game and should do a lot to lead towards making the campaign mode a real thing.

    1. Thanks for the feedback. Alternative corruption paths are coming soon, and both Forsaken abilities and alternative combat scenarios should be coming along with the campaign mode focus not too long after.

  4. Definitely want to break with forsaken. They don't really feel like they have much point rn with Demons able to do everything they can.

    1. They'll be able to do some more unique things eventually. But right now, I do think that they're too isolated from the rest of the game, and the only way to fix that is through implementing campaign mode. I'm tentatively wanting to focus on campaign-mode-related features immediately after the update that introduces alternative corruption paths.

    1. That would make sense, since I imagine that that's the most common use for the +100 EE cheat, and there's no need to require so many clicks to do it. I'll add it in the next version.

  6. I absolutely agree that the vignette system is the next priority. I really like this game, as the premise is very appealing, and the mechanics are engaging once you finally get the hang of them, but the actual sexual content as-is currently leaves a bit to be desired. In the end-game I often just speed through battles so I can see if I'll get a hot new vignette with the Chosen afterwards or not, but most of the time it just ends up repeating one of a handful of scenes I've already seen 4 or 5 times already.

    I cannot wait to see what comes of this game down the line, it has *so* much potential.

  7. Just some feedback that I would love for forsaken to unlock some alternative actions that are not super intense or violent.

    I feel this game has the graphic, violent, rape stuff covered very very well already and you'll definitely nut several times if that is your thing. The things that would excite me would be more subtle stuff from the forsaken. I would love to see forsaken generate love/hate relationships with chosen, I would love to see forsaken going out into the real world and visiting chosen in between battles. They could sabotage the chosen a little, getting them aroused before the next battle. Or they could delay chosen reinforcements from arriving. They could even do some wild sexy things outside of battle with chosen that are sufficiently broken.

    Just some random examples. At the start the forsaken might only be compelled to do small things outside of your influence, like dropping some aphrodisiacs in the chosen's food so they show up to fights aroused and dripping. Or maybe tagging chosen with a little demon tracker that lets you know when they're coming. But higher level forsaken learn sexier and wilder ways to mess with the chosen. They can visit chosen's friends or family and seduce them. They can give chosen cursed or demonic things that will open them up to attacks in the fight (example: maybe a bracelet with a demonic tracking thing in it that lets you pull chosen out of flight once per battle).

    They could develop friendships, rivalries, and even sexual relationships with the chosen. Once forsaken are highly trained and chosen are sufficiently broken, forsaken could even be sent to seduce them in the real world. They could show up at school and seduce the chosen between classes, or molest the chosen inside a train, or force a chosen to wear a demonic vibrator while at work. In addition to being fun little erotica rewards in and of itself, it could manifest in chosen starting fights with additional vulnerabilities or already at a certain level of break without you needing to do anything.

    Another fun idea is redemption arcs for the forsaken, where chosen will attempt to seduce them back to their side, and the player can help decide whether the redemption arc will be successful (forsaken comes back from the darkness and fights to help her chosen lover), partially successful (forsaken helps chosen sometimes, but also furthers their corruption and has wild sex with them whenever possible), or turn into a full corruption arc (forsaken drags chosen down into a spiral of lust and desire, and after a climactic sex session where they fuck each other's brains out, the chosen embraces the darkness instead) instead.

    I think the forsaken could be used to add a lot more spice and variety to your campaign, and not just as another generic way to mindbreak enemies when you've already got 20 different ways to mindbreak them already.

    Of course, I know you've got a lot on your plate already. But I think the forsaken mechanic is brilliant, has a lot of potential beyond merely using them in combat, and could really expand the sexiness of your game without needing a lot of code.

    1. Thank you for the detailed feedback! Most of your suggestions regarding things that can happen between Chosen and Forsaken are things I want to include. I just want to get campaign mode functional first, since without that, the Forsaken are less of an integrated gameplay element and more of a "cheat" option. Fortunately, campaign mode shouldn't be too far off.

      Regarding redemption arcs, I'm hesitant to let the Forsaken get "un-corrupted" because I don't want it to feel like anything you do to them is trivial or easily reversible. On the other hand, I'm definitely interested in including scenes where the Chosen try to redeem the Forsaken and just end up getting themselves further corrupted in turn.

  8. I have a question - is it possible to go "all the way" with a forsaken in the current build? I can't find a way for them to actually do any sex scenes in any of the training option, though to be fair, I've only played around with randomly generated forsaken that have their virginity intact

There are several training actions that can involve sex, but right now, the game is set to have virgin Forsaken keep their virginities intact, and there aren't any methods in place to specifically take their virginities. I don't want to lock out very many training options for players who prefer to save the virginity of their Forsaken, but I also don't think that players should ever be prevented from taking their captives' virginity. I'll probably implement some sort of "virginity policy" option at some point.

It's possible for the Forsaken to complain about each other acting in yandere-like ways toward them when they have very different opinions of each other (i.e. Forasken A likes Forsaken B, but Forsaken B hates Forsaken A). However, they don't actually do any yandere behavior on-screen yet. Once you can have the Forsaken train each other, it'll be a lot more significant.

  10. Read that you are looking to work on Campaign so a few suggestions here for you to consider.

    I know there is no plans to put images into the game, but I believe a simple profile picture can add a certain flavor to unique Chosens and other major characters. There is no need for you to build yourself, try these sites that offer generated anime pictures they can make your life easier. https://make.girls.moe/ and https://waifulabs.com/ are good places to start.

    1) Maybe start of the first few "missions" with easier Chosen. This means Chosen will have different power levels, tiers, etc. C, B, A, S, SS, SSS. These makes corrupting the higher tiered Chosens so much fulfilling. These also makes it more believable since the current form of the game we are able to take out 3 top tier Chosens in a manner of 50 days.

    2) Campaigns allow for custom made Chosens that are different from the other generated Chosens. They will be few powerful and unique, makes capturing them a challenge too. Maybe some unique ways to defeat them? Corrupting all their friends before defeating one becomes an option?

    3) A unique personal assistant?/Side kick? Support characters?

    4) Maybe the first few missions of the campaign can be specific and scripted. Then after player has reach certain power, example, having a side kick, or corrupting 5 Chosens or certain tech/abilities. The game world opens up, where player will need to determine where to attack next.

    5) Chosen can also launch attacks on Player to weaken him, this is to make players be careful of their expansion.

    Hope these will help generate some interesting ideas for your campaign. Cheers.

    1. Thanks for the advice. I do have definite plans to let players use custom portraits for the Chosen and Forsaken. I've looked into using sites like those in order to be able to include a "default" portrait set, but I haven't investigated the legality of it all yet. I figure that even in the worst-case scenario, there can still be unofficial portrait packs shared among the playerbase.

      The campaign-related suggestions are pretty close to what I've been planning, although the notion of counterattacks from the Chosen is something I should probably be thinking more about. After each loop, you'll have a choice between different difficulty modifiers (like shorter deadlines, damage penalties, and presence of "special" Chosen) depending on where you attack next. The difficulty will pretty quickly ramp up beyond that of the existing hard mode, but you'll have Forsaken (and maybe some separate achievement bonuses as well) to help you deal with it.

      I also like the idea of being able to set one of your Forsaken as your secretary in order to get her commentary as the game proceeds. I'd have to think about how to implement it without letting it become monotonous or boring though.

  11. Heya I just want to say I only recently discovered your game and it’s honestly one of the most entertaining and promising games I've played all year.
    Not only the progression and variety of abilities, but also the satisfaction of making the perfect plan and it succeeding against a particular group of chosen feels really fucking dope!
    Overall I believe this game has a really good foundation as well as potential in a lot of different ways.
    So I just wanted to say thank you for making a good game and as well as dedicating your time to make it even better! :D

    In terms of feedback and how development could be used on, I echo what a lot of people seem to be saying about vignettes, alternative corruption paths, and campaign mode. And since that seems to be your focus as well I’m looking forward to the next update already!

    One thing I think might be interesting is the possibility of chosen having or gaining particular fetishes based on what vulnerabilities are broken for them. I think it will add some more uniqueness and nuance to each chosen and how you impacted on them.
    Although I feel like this is already implemented in some form since the profiles of the chosen begin to reflect what happens to them over the course of a run as well as obvious damage increases to certain attacks, it would be nice if there were even more pronounced ways of showcasing those changes from just flavor text or even changes in how they act in combat.

    For example a chosen’s confidence break progression could be different from one who had tier 4 or 5 confidence break with a fetish for a masochism
    Instead of them slowly becoming more suicidal and self destructive as a result of the pain and suffering they’ve experienced they could begin to enjoy the pain and that desire for that pain could escalate until they are eventually self destructive similar to normal confidence break chain.
    That way they ultimately lead to the same result gameplay-wise while also having another potential reasoning why a chosen would become like thing, and as you are developing vignettes and alternative corruption paths currently I feel those could be a good way to trigger that kind of corruption branch

    Alternatively the more difficult way I also imagined is turning it into a full on system that comes about from breaking certain vulnerabilities in a certain orders and doing so could begin triggering fetishes as a result

    Like breaking Tier 3 Pleasure + Tier 3 Confidence
    First on a chosen Can lead to developing a masochism fetish or Breaking Tier 3 Pleasure + Tier 3 Morality can lead to a sadism fetish.
    Tier 3 Pleasure + Dignity= Exposure fetish
    Tier 3 Confidence + Dignity= Humiliation/Degradatism fetish or submissive etc

    And besides the flavor text of a certain fetish it could impact how that chosen takes damage in certain situations or perform actions
    Like when a chosen whose a masochist takes not only injury damage when pummeled but also half or even just a small amount of pleasure damage

    And when they use rally and run into the thralls it’s secretly an excuse to take damage or if a sadistic chosen uses blast they take pleasure in it hurting others (similar to how some corrupted chosen function now I suppose lol)

    Understandably I recognize this is definitely more complicated than the previous way I mentioned and
    Since it would require potentially rebalancing the current combat flow and even more, but overall even if it was only in the way of flavor text I just sort of thought of this idea as a fun gameplay goal and give people another reason to break certain vulnerabilities in addition to the core and minor vulnerability focus. Slowly developing a chosen a certain way and hearing how they began to enjoy or awakened a dormant part of themselves if they become forsaken would feel really rewarding although maybe that’s just me lol

    1. Another suggestion I thought of is something like a chosen falling in love or becoming increasingly infuriated or even just being obsessed with the demon lord in specifically based on certain actions you take in a campaign/run

      Stuff like taking a chosen’s virginity or anal virginity through a demon commander personally or using the demon commander’s defiler action a certain number of times throughout a run

      It can even be sort of minor ability to create a proxy body for you to infiltrate a chosen’s private life and interact with them yourself, in the future eventually revealing yourself or being discovered and causing them to second guess their desire to fight you (or increase their desire to as well)
      I think most of what I’m saying is similar to what you have already planned for the forsaken interacting with chosen in the future so I suppose what I’m really am just asking is the ability to do it personally as well
      It could even develop where you can give chosen certain positions or jobs in hierarchy sort of manner or something

      And the last thing I want to suggest might just be a really minor thing but I would like to look at the profiles of the forsaken like you can when they’re still chosen

      Either the last description of their status before they were turned or even a updated status after now that they are on your side

      I most likely have a suggested too many things, half of which I don’t know how feasible they are in the vision you might have currently for the game.
      At the very least I suppose it shows how much fun I had with the game lol

      Either way, whether you decide to implement anything I suggested or not I’m excited for the direction you take with game and hope you still have fun working on this project :D

    2. Thank you for the suggestions! The idea of tying fetishes to the order in which Vulnerabilities are broken fits nicely with the game's design philosophy. As you can probably tell from how relationships between Chosen are handled, I like it when consequences come about from playing the game normally, so that a player who understands the rules can influence them, but players who don't care either way can just let them happen. I'd like to use fetishes to distinguish characters with similar personalities from each other, and I think that this will probably end up being how the player influences them.

      Regarding the gameplay ramifications of fetishes, this sounds a lot like my plans for alternative corruption paths. Specific fetish mechanics could potentially be another layer of gameplay to put on top of that system, but I'm not sure yet. I plan on starting on alternative corruption paths next month, so we'll see soon whether it's necessary.

      The notion of a "proxy" body that can interact more on a personal level is interesting. It'd require a lot of extra writing, so it won't come until sometime after the Forsaken are able to do all of those things, but I'll make a note to come back to it. I do agree that a lot of players probably would prefer to be able to have that personal touch.

      Allowing you to review a snapshot of what the Forsaken's lives were like immediately before being converted wouldn't be too hard. For updated status, I've been leaning toward just adding more conversation topics you can bring up with them, but I can still include a third-person summary if people really prefer that style. There's a lot of stuff I want to revisit for the Forsaken once they're properly integrated into the gameplay loop.

      I'm so glad that my thinking aligned so well with what you're already considering with the alternative corruption choices! :D I agree wholeheartedly with that mindset when it comes to gameplay. Being able to choose and balance between the most efficient method or a personal goal is what can allow some games an almost limitless playability and experimentation in my opinion. So I'm honestly really happy that more of these additional sort of options are coming soon with the alternative corruption paths!

      I can certainly understand the proxy body idea would require more writing for it to be fleshed out to good effect so I'm just happy that it interested you enough to bookmark the concept and as happy to wait for when you can put you focus towards it. That personal touch I feel would also be a good way of adding consequence/decision making. I actually thought of the proxy body/obsession idea in a recent playthrough when I wanted to trigger all defiler actions one chosen via my commander only since I noticed the profile specifically mentions whether a tier 2 break was done by the demon lord or demons or a fellow chosen. And I thought it would be fun if there was some sort of reward/payback for targeting a chosen in such a way. Regardless, having a different goal like that required a different playstyle and approach than my usual so I enjoyed the change since I didn't incorporate defiler commanders too often in my runs typically and it more or less proves that your game encourage experimentation easily with something like that being able to spur an entire playhthrough. At least for me I guess lol

      I think the conversation topics is a good choice especially as you add more topics to talk about and with something like fetishes being implemented it can really differentiate chosen with similar personalities like you are considering. Even something like being able to ask about what their think about the current team chosen you are currently going against would be cool once proper relationships with forsaken can develop.

      If you are able to do both the updated status and topics I would love it but if given a choice I think I would prefer the conversation topics ultimately since I feel like the personality and how they react to certain things I would like better in terms of how corrupted they are/becoming.
      Although I can't speak for everyone's preference but the snapshot immediately before is more along the lines :D
