DeleteYay, this finally let me get some of my chosen to rape each other! But they're all still boys, is that intended? I set it to let them transform because I thought it'd be neat to see them react to being permanently changed by their own teammates.
ReplyDeleteStrictly speaking, the wording of the option just refers to the inseminate effect in combat. But now that you mention it, it'd make sense to apply that to when the chosen break each other's vulnerabilities outside of combat too. Good idea, I'll add it in.
DeleteThanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteRan into a strange bug.
ReplyDeleteBackstory: Each chosen had only the final level of their minor vulnerability left to break. Capture with commander, Wait for next battle, Surround others.
When I finish the day 9 battle I get the message "Aegis challenges the other two Chosen to a citywide alternate reality game featuring their fans". There's no other text on the page, but if I hit continue a few times it eventually takes me to the interview event (which should be on day 15 I think?). After that, spamming continue takes me back to "Aegis challenges the other two Chosen to a citywide alternate reality game featuring their fans" and leaves me there trapped.
I've tried reloading. Even if I do nothing in the battle, the outcome is the same.
Let me know if you need any more info.
How bizarre. Thanks for the bug report. If you could upload your save from the previous day somewhere (it should be saves.sav in the game folder), that would help me a lot in tracking down the cause.
DeleteHopefully this should work:

And plz don't judge me for my filthy cheating.
DeleteThank you very much, I found the bug and it'll be fixed in the next release! And don't worry, as far as I'm concerned, judgment and punishment are something to be saved for the Chosen themselves.
DeleteThere, the fixed version is up, so you should be able to continue your game.
DeleteI just unlocked the Networked Consciousness upgrade, and I don't think it works quite right; it seems like it lets me give an immediate order, but also shortens time a Chosen is surrounded.
ReplyDeleteFor instance, if I have a Chosen at opening level 2 after turn 3, then on turn 4 I can surround, turns 5 and 6 I can issue orders to the thralls, and at the end of turn 6 she escapes. With the upgrade, I'm assuming I should be able to surround and issue an order on turn 4, spend turns 5 and 6 issuing more orders, and she escapes at the end of turn 6. However, what actually happened is that I surrounded on turn 4, gave another order on turn 5, and then she escaped at the end of that turn.
This can be especially frustrating because I don't see a way to not give the thralls an order when surrounding someone with this upgrade, so it seems it can backfire on me pretty easily (if, say, I want to capture a Champion to trigger Fear for a different champion, but don't want to spend a turn giving the thralls orders.)
I can confirm I've noticed this as well.
DeleteThanks for catching this, it's definitely not intended. It should be fixed by next update.
DeleteAnother issue: there's an upgrade that I bought that turns the "do nothing" button into "barrier". The button still says "do nothing", and I can't see any indication that it's doing anything, but it might be entirely behind the scenes.
DeleteI wasn't able to reproduce this one. Note that the upgrade only changes "do nothing" to "barrier" until extermination is completed. After that, it switches back to "do nothing." Is the button still saying "do nothing" in the first part of the battle?
DeleteSo that's why it changes! I just assumed in my lizardbrain that there was a max value it maxed out at. (I always spam barrier while the first chosen is captured, then forget about it once the others show up.)
DeleteAh, that explains it. Don't think the ability description said anything about only working until extermination is complete...
DeleteAlthough compared to the other things you can do in a turn, it feels like 5% damage increase isn't terribly effective...
The main purpose of the upgrade is indeed to give the player something useful to do on turns when all the Chosen are being captured or defiled, but I wouldn't underestimate its usefulness elsewhere as well. The majority of the damage during a battle often happens after extermination is already complete, and the barrier multiplier can often cause circumstance levels to increase a turn earlier than they would otherwise - having a compounding effect on the later parts of the battle. It can be a lot more impactful than using a basic Threaten/Slime/Attack/Taunt on a girl that you're just going to use your capture on in a couple of turns anyway.
DeleteAs for the upgrade description, I've confirmed that it does mention that it only applies before extermination is completed, but this does raise the point that there should probably be a way to review the descriptions of upgrades you've already purchased.
