Release 13: Preparation

This update comes just after the anniversary of the first public release of Corrupted Saviors.  The past year of development has been focused on setup for the Chosen's fall to the side of the Demons.  The coming year will be focused on the payoff.  The update following this one will implement the final battle.

As for the current update, its most notable feature is the new event on Day 45.  This event isn't as sexual as the last one, but it provides an overview of how the Chosen will be faring as they head into the final battle.  A new cheat will allow even players who have progressed their files beyond Day 45 to see this new content.

Additionally, the final tier of upgrades has been added.  This tier is larger than the others at 8 upgrades, although 2 of the upgrades have no function until the final battle and 4 more have effects which are fairly minor until the final battle.  However, the last 2 upgrades are high-impact Commander abilities, including the ability to combine a Punisher, a Defiler, and a Suppressor on the same body.  There are 64 different Punisher/Defiler/Suppressor combinations, and while I wasn't able to add unique flavor to as many of the combinations as I would have liked, it should still let you break some Vulnerabilities in new scenarios.

I hope you all enjoy this update and look forward to the next one!

  • -Content: A new event has been added to Day 45.

  • -Interface: Added two new text size options.
  • -Bugfix: Commanders will no longer always be described as capable of capturing flying Chosen, even when they aren't.
  • -Bugfix: During team customization, the button to return to the main menu will now function properly.
  • -Bugfix: During team customization, the button to have one of the Chosen go by her surname will now function properly.
  • -Bugfix: Using cheats to encounter the second and third Chosen for the first time on the same day will no longer result in their relationships not initializing properly.
  • -Other: Added a content option to disable female->futanari shifting for Chosen who started out as male and then shifted to female.
  • -Other: Added a cheat which can be used to change what day it is.
  • -Other: Added a cheat to stop the Chosen from using Slaughter, Fantasize, Detonate, and Striptease.
Release 13b:
  • -Bugfix: Corrected an error that was causing Punisher+Defiler+Suppressor flavor text to be incorrect or simply not show up.

  1. Think I've got a bug, Using the Impreg Punisher, Vanity Defiler and Pleasure suppressor together to capture a chosen means the text above the stat change bars each turn disappears

  2. Note, This is the same with a Hypno punisher, vanity defiler and pleasure suppressor as well, Using barrier to wait out the turns btw

    1. This also applies for a Hypno Punisher, Hate defiler and Pleasure suppressor

    2. Thanks for the bug report. I believe it should be fixed in the bugfix release I've uploaded just now.

  3. The done button disappears during the Options screen in the main menu, and next battle buttons disappear when there's too many buttons on the main screen. The back button is also gone when picking any of the commander abilities after picking the upgrade that allows you to combo all three.

    The other comments have mentioned this, but flavor text when using a commander with 3 abilities disappear. Some descriptions when picking the combos for the commander in the creation mention is also missing, I.e., when picking to combine surpressor HATE and defiler or punisher HATE it shows none of the flavor text.

    1. Regarding the back button disappearing when picking commander abilities, that might be working as intended, since the game prevents you from creating commanders that have only Punisher+Suppressor or Punisher+Defiler. When you have a punisher commander, it needs to either come with both a suppressor and a defiler, or neither. (If the back button is disappearing even when those conditions are met, then that is a bug.)

      The other situations with disappearing buttons sound like window size issues. You should be able to make the buttons reappear by resizing the window. I'm looking into reworking the interface in order to make that sort of thing unnecessary.

  4. Question. Considering how we've nearing the end of CS, are there plans for a CS 2?

    1. A large amount of the content in Corrupted Saviors will be stuff that only makes sense to add after it's possible to make the Chosen fall to the player's side, so I'd say we still aren't quite to the halfway mark of development yet. But once it is finished, rather than making a sequel, I'll probably end up making something completely new. It'll have similar fetishes (because they're what appeal to me) and similar game design principles (because I think that they're what result in a game being good), but won't necessarily be the same type of game or take place in the same universe.

    2. Forgot about there being stuff after the "Final Battle", Hoping for some femdom here and there but thats my kink... oooh a succubus esque transformation would be interesting

      Delete
    3. There will certainly be some femdom, since it'll be possible to send out corrupted Chosen as if they were commanders, and they'll abuse the next team in various ways. Being able to transform the fallen Chosen's bodies is in the "maybe eventually" pile.

    4. Chosen as commanders.... Ooooh the possibilities~~

    5. Side note: Is it possible to have it that if you retreat with an intact commander, you get a portion of its Energy cost back?

      Delete
    6. That's an idea that I've considered, because it does intuitively make sense, but I'm worried that it wouldn't work well from a gameplay perspective. The cost of extra captures isn't related to the cost of the rest of the commander, so unless the exchange rate was deliberately made very poor, you could end up in a situation where buying captures you don't intend to use would be advantageous. The current system rewards players who can plan for how many captures they need.

  5. Found another bug, When using the Impreg punisher, vanity defiler and plea suppressor on a chosen with over 1000% effectiveness for impreg, The capture scene is skipped but the vulnerability is broken

    1. Ignore that... seems to have fixed itself strangely

  6. New question. Willing to share any hints on what the next release'll entail?

    1. The major feature coming in the next update is the final battle. There's a lot of stuff that will have to go into it, so I don't expect that there'll be room for much else.

      Delete
    2. Sounds interesting, dont mind if there wont be much else cause I expect the battle will be alot on its own

  7. As excited as I always am to see a new update, I always feel like I need to learn to play all over again...

    A question on proof-reading: If we spot any obvious errors (missing spaces, for example) in the flavor text, would you want us to report them here?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, I absolutely appreciate having errors reported here. There are too many possible combinations for me to test them all, so I rely on player reports to catch those sorts of things.

    2. Hope these help!

      "screams with rage as one of her attackers manages to penetrate her >pussyHer< body is uncontrollably writhing in pleasure,"

      "the flashbacks will cause them to hesitate for an extra turn before dealing the killing blow to a >surround< ally who they have an Unbreakable Friendship with."

      " she's betrayed her principles and willfully committed so much murder, she knows that she's more vulnerable than she's ever >been.Even< as"

      You offer the Chosen a one-night truce in exchange for all three of them performing together at a sort of concert in the heart of the Demonic hive, and she is quick to accept in hopes of finding a new audience to give her the respect she believes she deserves. (Doesn't actually specify which Chosen you're talking about.)

      Delete
    3. Thanks for catching these! They should all be fixed in the next release (although the upgrade description one won't refresh until you start a new run).

  8. So a hypothetical situation: You've set up a surround that'll last 7 turns and Sodomize (which you want to use) is ready from the get-go.

    What's the best way to proceed? Do Grind, Caress, Pummel, Humiliate and ~finish~ with Sodomize? Or just lead with Sodomize from the start?

    I seem to recall reading that they all stack, so my assumption was that it was always optimal to utilize as many different ones as possible.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Generally go for Sod from the start cause it does higher base damage from the start and so you generally get a bigger spike in damage before it starts tapering off

      Delete
    2. Grind, Caress, Pummel, and Humiliate all stack with each other, but they don't stack with defiler actions like Sodomize. That said, because Sodomize only deals INJU and EXPO, it's sometimes advantageous to get a level or two of HATE or PLEA first.

  9. Very nice to see an update drop shortly after I picked up the game! I'm wondering a few things, after the Final Battle update, once you have the Chosen on your side, will more Chosen show up? Another thing that would be interesting would be the ability to choose to have more Chosen in your game. (But to not have battles become too hard or short, add a limit on how many chosen can join in a specific battle?)

    1. It isn't planned to have more than 3 enemy Chosen in a single battle, and because of how the relationship mechanics work, I don't think it'd be a good idea to have a "rotating cast" that swaps out from battle to battle over the course of a single 50-day loop.

      However, after converting any of the Chosen to your side, you'll be able to start a new game where you have the fallen Chosen acting as your assistant. You'll be able to deploy them like a commander and they'll potentially give other bonuses as well. There will also eventually be a sort of campaign mode where you take on a sequence of teams and get to use any Chosen you've corrupted from earlier loops to help you in the later loops.

  10. And only with this update I finally understood how to play and not suck ass. Been here since the second update, really loving the game.

  11. Interesting idea/ suggestion thing.
    A snatcher type commander that lets you chose and capture a chosen to be taken to your base and then "trained". Maybe as part of taking a chosen as a commander?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The way I plan to do this sort of thing is to make it so that after defeating the Chosen during the final battle, you can then take them back to your base for training. Because that's meant to be such a big deal, I'm leaning against including any "temporary" imprisonment/training mechanics.

    2. Makes sense. Looking forward to this

  12. So I have a recurring bug that crashes the game. (Specifically, the game locks up for a long while, then when it gets back to normal, all the buttons are missing so you can't do anything but scroll the log.)

    I've noticed that it always triggers when I try to capture a specific chosen, late in the battle once their circumstances/trauma are super high.

    When I first noticed this, I just skipped capturing them that day and moved on. But it's happening on the second day as well. Same chosen.

    For context, I'm on day 8-9 of a cheated run where I have had everything unlocked from the start.

    Does any of this help narrow down the cause? Should I try and upload a save for you?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It seems likely that it's some sort of overflow error, but I'm not sure where exactly in the code to look. A save and a list of actions from the start of the battle that trigger the bug would definitely help. Because the damage values and enemy actions don't rely on random number generation, it should be possible for me to reproduce it exactly.

    2. Hopefully I haven't borked this.

      Save file should be here: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=03362816419698919638

      You'll want to load slot 1: "hate - Day 9 versus Seraph, Aegis, and Countess"

      Target Seraph
      Barrier x4
      Seraph -> Surround -> Broadcast
      Barrier
      Countess -> Capture
      Aegis -> Threaten
      Aegis -> Surround -> Pummel
      Barrier
      Barrier
      Countess -> Surround -> Grind
      Barrier
      Seraph -> Surround -> Sodomize
      Countess -> Sodomize+
      Aegis -> Surround -> Orgy
      Barrier x10 (Demonic barrier 140%)
      Seraph -> Surround -> Broadcast
      Do Nothing x3 (Until Seraph: Broadcasted until next turn)
      Aegis -> Surround -> Sodomize
      Do Nothing x5 (Until Aegis: Sodomized until next turn)
      Click Countess, game breaks.

    3. For context, I was trying to farm Impregnation%, Hypnosis%, Drain%, Parasitism%. Hence why I was going for the solo captures at the end there instead of a 30+ round orgy. If there's a better way, let me know.

    4. I believe this is the second time you've caught a gamebreaking bug for me. Thanks again. The next version will be done soonish, so I'll just release the fix with that.

      Regarding getting the percentages up for the punisher commanders, there currently isn't a better method. I'm currently looking into different ways to give the player more control over how quickly those progress.

  13. Great game, great work and great update :)

    Can't wait for the next update where we will be able to changing the chosens.

    Is the next update going to release on time? If so are you able to reveal the release date?

    Thanks.

    1. I'd say that the next update is currently a bit ahead of schedule. It's still a few days off, and I don't want to commit to a particular day, but it definitely won't take more than a week.
